In order to understand some of the strategies and how you can play the game in a more profitable manner we have highlighted some points to consider before starting. There are certain variables that alter the casino's advantage and are defintely worth taking into account when deciding where to play your Blackjack.
• Number of decks used.
• If the dealer stands on a soft 17 (Ace & 6).
• No of times it’s allowed to split hands.
• On which cards is doubling down allowed
• Is double down allowed after splitting pairs
• Is surrender allowed. If so is it Early or Late surrender.
• If the dealer has a face-up card of 3, 4, 5 or 6 there is more than a 35% chance they will bust. If you have 13 to 16 in this case you should stand as the dealer has a good chance of busting as they must take a hit.
• If the dealer has a 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace, you should take another card as there’s a high probability that the dealer's face down card is a 10, and they will win
• The Double Down strategy means that you should always double down on 11 - except against dealers ace, double down on 10 when dealer shows 9 or lower and on 9 when dealer shows 6 or lower.
• The Split strategy means you should always split aces and 8's, never split 10-face cards and never split 5's and always split 3's and 2's when the dealer shows 4,5,6, or 7.
