Texas Hold'em is one of the easier poker games that you can learn to play, but to become an expert it's a little bit more difficult. There are a number of strategies claiming to make you a winner but the best place to start is by explaining the basics. We've detailed a step-by-step guide on how to play below and once you've practiced a bit you'll be all set to start developing your strategies and winning. Regular Poker Hand Hands apply to this game.

Blind Bets
The first player clockwise to the left of the Dealer, places the "Small Blind" Bet (half the table's Lower Limit Stake) The second player clockwise to the left of the Dealer, places the "Big Blind" Bet (equal to the table's Lower Limit Stake).

The Pocket Cards - The First Deal
The Dealer deals two facedown "Pocket Cards" to each player. These are dealt in a clockwise direction, starting with the player to the left of the Big Blind.

The 1st Betting Round (Betting Limit: Lower Limit Stake)
The first player to the left of the Big Blind starts. The Betting Round then continues in a clockwise direction with each player in turn. In this Betting Round, each player has to at least "Call" the Big Blind, in order to stay in the game. Betting is at the table's Lower Limit Stake.

Each player must either:

Check - Pass the option to act to the next player
Bet - Add an increase to the amount that each of the following players must place in the Pot, in order to remain in the hand
Raise - Place a Betting Round's 2nd, 3rd or 4th increase to the amount that each of the following players must place in the Pot, in order to remain in the hand
Call - Equal the previous active player's Betting amount in that Betting Round and remain in the hand (in the first Betting Round each player must at least Call the amount of the Big Blind)
Fold - Discard hand and no longer remain active to participate in the hand. The player forfeits the amount (if any) that they have previously wagered during that hand.

The Betting Round is finished when:
a.All active players have Checked in turn
b.All active players have Called the last player to Bet or Raise, in turn.
c.All previous active players have chosen to Fold, leaving only one active player. This remaining player automatically wins the Pot; both the Betting Round and hand are automatically terminated.

"The Flop" - The Second Deal
The Dealer places the first three "Community Boardcards", face-up, in the center of the table which are shared by all players.

The 2nd Betting Round (Betting Limit: Lower Limit Stake)
The first player to the left of the Dealer starts the second round of betting. This again goes clockwise around the table.

"The Turn" - The Third Deal
The Dealer puts the fourth Community Boardcard, face-up, in the center of the table.

The 3rd Betting Round (Betting Limit: Higher Limit Stake)
The first player to the left of the Dealer again starts the 3rd betting round in the same direction as previously detailed. The Betting in this Round is set at the table's Higher Limit Stake.

"The River" - The Fourth & Final Deal
The Dealer puts the fifth Community Boardcard in the center of the Table (facing up)

The 4th (Final) Betting Round (Betting Limit: Higher Limit Stake)
The first player to the left of the Dealer starts this round and Betting is set at the table's Higher Limit Stake.

The Showdown
Once the 4th Betting Round is finished, there is a "Showdown". In the Showdown, each player combines any combination of their two Pocket Cards, and the five Community Boardcards, to create the highest ranking (valued), five card, Poker hand possible. The player who has the highest ranking Poker hand wins the Pot.
