Baccarat is the best odds game of pure chance that you can find. Baccarat is also a fairly simple
Casino Game with only three possible results - 'Player', 'Banker' and 'Tie'. The term 'Player' does not refer to the customer and the term 'Banker' does not refer to the house. They are just options on which the customer can bet. Basically 2 hands are dealt - the banker's and the player's. Before this is done the player bets on whether they think their hand or the Banker's hand is closest to a total of 9. The player also has the option to bet on a tie (i.e. both the banker's and player's hands total the same).
How to Play Baccarat
Select the amount you would like to bet on each hand. And choose the type of bet you want to make. There are 3 types of bets a player can bet on: A Player's hand, The Banker's hand or you can bet that it will be a Tie. A combination of these bets can also be made.
Online Casinos vary but play is most likely to consist of the following...
The cards are dealt face down, one to the 'Player' first, then to the 'Banker'; 'Player' then 'Banker' again. Each has two cards. This is the initial deal. Both cards in each hand are then turned over and added together and the croupier calls the total. (e.g. five to the 'Player', three to the 'Banker') From this position the 'Tableau' or table of play is used to determine if further cards need to be drawn. Depending on the two hands, the Player and Banker may draw a single card or stand pat. The hand with the highest total wins. If either the Player or the Banker has a total of 8 or 9 on the initial deal, no further cards are drawn. If neither player has an 8 or a 9, play proceeds as follows.
If the Player has an initial total of 0-5, the Player draws a single card.
If the Player has an initial total of 6 or 7, he stands.
The Banker's play also depends on the Banker's hand, on whether the Player drew a card, and also on what card the Player actually drew:
0 cards, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-5, and stands if he has 6-7.
2 or 3, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-4, and stands if he has 5-7.
4 or 5, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-5, and stands if he has 6-7.
6 or 7, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-6, and stands if he has 7.
8, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-2, and stands if he has 3-7.
9, 10, or face-card, the Banker draws if he has a total of 0-3/stands if he has 4-7.
Payouts
A winning Player hand wager is paid at 1 to 1. A winning Banker hand wager is also paid at 1 to 1 but the player must pay a 5% commission to the bank. Winning Tie wagers are paid at 8 to 1. Should both the 'Banker's' hand and the 'Player's' hand have the same value at the end of the deal the tie bets win. All tie bets will be paid at the odds of 9 for 1, or 8 to 1 and the croupier shall not touch the bets on either 'Player' or 'Banker'.
Mini Baccarat
This is essentially the same, but played at a much smaller table. A single dealer handles the game, including dealing all of the cards. The pace is much quicker than normal Baccarat with betting minimums and maximums also lower.
