It's common knowledge that Blackjack is the most
Casino Game currently being played at
Online Casinos. But did you know that all online casinos have different rules that affect the outcome of the game? There are also quite a few variations of Blackjack that can be played online. Before you start playing it is important that you know the main rules of each game in order to win as much as possible. To help for those starting out on Blackjack, we have put together a list of the main games that are available below.
Blackjack
The object of the game is to total your cards to 21 or as close as possible without going over 21. Your hand must be closer than the dealers to win. All card values are the same as standard Blackjack - aces count as either 1 or 11, face cards as 10, and number cards as their face value.
Blackjack Switch
Rules vary from standard Blackjack in that you have 2 hands which you may play in turn, first you play the right hand, then the left and then the dealer plays. You can split, double, use insurance etc as in the standard games. An exception in this version of the game is that the dealer always hits soft 17 - meaning he always draws one more card when he has 17 with an ace counted as 11. 'Blackjacks' pay 1/1 instead of 3/2 although more 'Blackjacks' are created due to the 'switching' option. Another exception is the Blackjack rule that states "If the player doubles and the dealer's first card is of value 10, and the dealer gets blackjack, the player loses only the initial bet" does not apply in Blackjack Switch. Before there are any hits you can switch the top cards of your two hands, the Dealer can push a total of 22 – meaning that whenever the dealer's total reaches 22 then all bets are 'pushed', regardless of their total except if a player has a 'Blackjack', which will still win.
Vegas Strip Blackjack
The main rules are the same as the basic blackjack rules, but with Vegas Strip Blackjack you play with four standard decks of 52 playing cards that are shuffled before each game and you can only bet one hand at a time.
Vegas Downtown Blackjack
Vegas Downtown Blackjack is played with two standard decks of 52 playing cards that are shuffled before each game. The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a higher value hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going bust. In Vegas Downtown Blackjack, you can only bet one hand at a time.
Double Exposure Blackjack
Double Exposure Blackjack is played with 8 standard decks of 52 playing cards, all shuffled before each game. The main difference when playing Double Exposure Blackjack is that you can only play one hand at a time, you can’t use insurance and the Dealer is dealt 2 face up cards.
Atlantic City Blackjack
Atlantic City Blackjack is played again with 8 standard decks of 52 playing cards that are shuffled before each game. With the Atlantic City Blackjack, you can only bet one hand at a time.
